Last month, i did a thing. Traded my 2021 premium soft top for a 2024 hard top. After making the deal i felt instant mixed feelings. So, i found a 2024 premium soft top in Georgia (CHEAP!!) and bought that too. CG is now a dual top Jeep 🩷🩵

To catch yall up, CG had been leaking from passenger rear axle seal. Replaced, easy peasy. What we didn’t know, and couldn’t see, was the bearing about to sh*t the bed. So on a ride in March to go get a cute new tattoo, the bearing grenaded and put CG down for another month. We had travel plans throughout April and I’ve had some gnarly changes at work, so the fix wasn’t exactly top priority. Fast forward to 5/1, she’s fixed. Not leaking. Driveable. I now have to relearn how to drive my jeep but that’s fine. Hoping for no more crappenings. (Yes i made that word up- come at me) now to focus on the fun: installing the NEW soundbar, NEW dash light kit (thank you friends ), the NEW Vega pod lights with Amber covers, painting the inside of the hard top, removing the ARB manifold, and cleaning every inch of the rear to rid the scent of (thankfully new) gear oil. Oh, and of course to put on the new 42s. Always something.

Happy May all- summer’s about to be lit.

There’s no feeling quite@like being behind the wheel of this thing. This is my happy place. This is my freedom. This is my whole heart.

I don’t sugar coat. I don’t hide the reality. I’ve been so honest about what’s gone right and what’s gone wrong with this build. I’ve been vulnerable. I’ve been a b*tch. I’ve been as patient as I haven’t been. You all have seen much of it- not the deepest lows but who cares about those, right? This has been the hardest build- both for me and for Scott, because we are working with literal unknowns. Junkyard tons that you didn’t build have so many variables and while some things seem straightforward, they simply aren’t. I am so proud of my man for all of his hard work, all that he’s learned, and all that he’s accomplished. Have we done things wrong at times? Yep. Have we tried to make it work? Also yep. At the end of the day, it’s about what we learned and what we overcame. Together. Better. Stronger.

I’m one who asks a ton of questions, who needs to see something come together with her own eyes. Someone who I guess gets on people’s nerves for it. I honestly don’t care. This is my baby- not anyone else’s. I own every blood drop, every sweat bead and every tear that’s fallen from my eyes, when it comes to this build. Would I do things differently if I knew then what I know now? Yes. 100% yes. But that’s in the past. Time for new adventures. LFG.
