New schedules have been released for the three Super Late Model touring circuits that fall under the promotional umbrella of Ray Cook’s highly-popular Southern Nationals Series. The announcement was made this morning at 10 a.m. during the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Spring Nationals, Southern Nationals and newly-named Fall Nationals (formerly Southern Nationals Bonus Series), all of which receive title sponsorship from Schaeffer’s Oil and presenting sponsorship from Sunoco and Tennessee RV Supercenter, make up the collection of touring circuits that will award more than $900,000 in total purses, points funds and nightly bonuses.
Several facilities are slated for a first-time visit by the organization, and returning tracks also dot the three separate schedules, giving an injection of variety that promises to add more spice to a much-anticipated campaign for the Brasstown, N.C-based organization.
Each circuit will award $5,053 to the champion. Eric Wells of Hazard, Ky., is the reigning Spring Nationals champion, while Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., earned the title on the midsummer Southern Nationals Series. David Payne of Murphy, N.C., claimed the crown on last year’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series, which is now the Fall Nationals.
