Hey, Froggyland. It's Jumpin' Jack. It's taken us a few days here to post about the loss of our dear friend Terry Little last weekend because how do you summarize what someone like that means to you in a social media post? It seems like nothing that you could say would ever be enough. Today, on what would've been his birthday, the celebration of his life is happening across town. Man, there was a lot to celebrate.
I first met Terry when I got to Froggy in 2010. He took photos of Wendy and I for our first billboard in town. He was so funny and so wonderful to us, and he always was. Whether he was at an event taking photos, co-hosting the morning show on WNBS, or just popping in to say hello, it always felt like you were getting Terry on his best day and he would do everything he could to make you feel like it was yours.
Every time I ran into him anywhere he made me feel like the most important person in the room at that moment. I don't think anyone was ever as excited to see me as he was and I know without a doubt that he made so many other people feel the same way. It didn't matter if you saw him at a gathering like Freedom Fest, Playhouse in the Park, or even the grocery store. Terry was always glad to see you. He was always kind and gracious and you always left every interaction with him with a smile.
For someone like me, Terry was synonymous with the city of Murray. He was everything that was great about this place. He was pretty much a superhero but instead of a cape he wore awesome socks and pants or had a cool hat or shoes. Usually all of the above at the same time.
Terry Little was one of one. There has never been anyone like him and we'll never see another come close.
To Judi and family, we send you absolutely nothing but love today. Thank you for sharing him with us for all these years.
We love you and we miss you, Terry.
