17 days into the new year and learning how to take care of me 🤍

being a stay at home mom makes it super easy to just lounge in frumpy pjs and honestly I could go all day without brushing my hair or washing my face.

today was an everything shower, outfit, make up kind of day (and we got to go see our new house 🥹)

taking care of yourself is important. making a minute for yourself matters.

okay dumpy???

day ✨ 16 ✨ of intentionally taking care of myself.

little brother must be in a leap or getting teeth or just living the life of a 1 year old with a 2 year old sister because he’s been giving mommy and daddy a run for their money.

we went out today and ordered a front door for our new house!!!! then had a coffee date with some friends 🤍 (after living in this town for 2* years we went inside Starbucks for the first time…if that doesn’t say 2 under 2 ;))

another day another ✨ me ✨ moment. it’s day 15 of (intentionally) taking care of me.

today’s was more like a menty-b before I had a menty-b. we also walked around wal-mart eating blueberries and popcorn chicken.

do you ever forget we’re actually supposed to l i v e life? we’re not robots?

these 15 days of finding 10-15-60 minutes to do something specifically for me during the day with our two littles in tow is teaching me patience and to not be in a hurry. all our minutes have names (some really long names)…but names and should be cherished 🤍

I use to always be reading a book (& no I don’t mean the same book for the whole year 🥲).

A friend told me about this book soon after having our second baby and I was so excited to read it. Well…then…it became a toy…

I can’t say if I recommend it or not. I’m sure, like life, there may be things I agree and disagree with.

I use to think the term “mama bear” was so cringe. Then I became a mom and that mama bear feeling actually comes out of NO. WHERE. Well…not no where…it’s almost like we were created for this? 😏

life is short — you can eat the donut.

now that I have a daughter I think about her not only as a baby/toddler but also as a little girl, pre-teen, teen, her being my age one day…& I think about how she talks to herself and how she treats her body.

our kids see us in the gym, they see us eating healthy food, but it’s also important they see us eating the fun foods too. it’s important she sees us taking care of our selves and speaking kindly to our selves.

I catch myself saying things about me and my appearance and my body that would break my heart if I heard her saying about herself.

how crazy we’re the adults now? we’re the parents? we’re the ones responsible for their physical and mental health.

I don’t care if you think I’m a helicopter, velcro, lawn mower parent. I love my kids. I will protect my kids. I will do anything for my kids.

“why do you still go to the gym if you’re so tired?”

believe it or not my kids don’t coordinate who needs me when 🙃

day 11 of taking care of my self was taking a DAY OF REST and when these babies go to bed it’ll be a night of me and my husband and I’ve been looking forward to it all day.

day 10 of intentionally taking care of myself looked like a shopping day.

A FULL DAY out of the house…

Carrier naps, car naps, fast food for lunch and some great shopping deals/finds.

What I’ve come to find is when you’re home, it’s reallllllly easy to stay home. But when you leave the house it can be really easy to stay gone from the house.

I spent a lot of yesterday preparing to be gone all day today. Car cleaned, snacks packed, stroller loaded. (Mother in law and grand mother in law texted because why be out numbered if you don’t have to be? 🤣)
