I have the honor of working with a bunch of young people from Burma (now named Myanmar) the last few weeks working on a praise and worship project. They actually live and work in Columbus Jct. IA, but have come here from Burma. Outside of the language barrier it's been a blast. We did an album of 12 songs with four singers plus a choir of about 16. Came out great. The vocals from these sessions will be (have already been) sent back to a Burmese studio to be mixed with the band tracks (very talented Burmese musicians) and will be released worldwide in the coming months. From what I understand, their leader, Ester Sung does a lot of songwriting for herself and others and wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on their project. After researching a bit, I've discovered that she is a pretty BIG DEAL in Burma, and has several CD's and music videos out. After doing the choir of P&W songs, they asked me to do the vocals on a project of a group they simply call "Trio". This project has now been recorded and will soon be on it's way back to Burma for mixing, mastering and worldwide release on a pretty large scale. Of course the targeted audience will be Burmese people as both of the projects are in Burmese. I just wanted to say that it's been a pleasure working with these young people. They are the some of the most respectful, and genuinely nice people I've ever worked with. If you'd like, please go to Youtube and check out: Esther van Hnem Sung. She has a very good voice as do the other two in the trio. Their names if I can get them right are Zung Hei and Dawt Len Zing. i may be a bit incorrect on those names, but I'm not very versed at Burmese. I will be getting copies of the final CD once it's released, and will post snippets of some of the songs they have done. Good Stuff. Next up, working on a new music bed and jingle for CBI Bank and Trust. Kind of fun. I haven't done one of these in a while. Just waiting for Mr. Davis Sulzberger to send me back the files of the piano track. Guitar, Bass, and drum tracks laid, and voice over talent track laid. Should work out very well. Then back to work on editing and mixing a new project by Dane Nealson with all my great session players backing him up along with some of Danes friends doing duets and backing vocals with him. This post has turned out to be a mini-book. Sorry about that. I just haven't posted anything in quite some time. Hope all of you have a great summer. I'll try to be better about posting in the future when time allows!
