Hi guys! Well.....FINALLY the CD is done and ready to be sent to the mastering house and then to replication and packaging. Should be seeing a shipment in about 3 weeks. I've been looking forward to this for about a year now. If anyone would like to reserve a copy, Please message me. Price is $12 and if you need the CD mailed to you, I'll pick up the cost of shipping. The album title is "Merle, Mel, and Me" and is a compilation of mostly my Hero Merle Haggard songs plus one of my favorite songs from Mel Street. I'm very proud of all the work all the musicians and backing vocal singers did on this project. It's been a long road, but the light is at the end of the tunnel. Also want to give a shout out to Laura Darting Studio for the great photos. She is an extremely talented photographer. And a HUGE tip of the hat to my son Travis for the graphics and artwork he did on the CD Cover, liner notes and back of the CD jacket. His dad is going to help him panel the inside of one of his garages for his time and talent. A huge amount of gratitude to all that had a part in my dream project!!!! Words aren't enough. Parke

OK...It's been a while since I posted anything. My new CD "Merle, Mel, and Me" is nearly completed. Just some touch ups to do on the lead vocals and one drum track to re-do. Photo shoot done, cover photo chosen. Need to choose photo for the back cover. Then it's off to my Son, Travis McConnaha to do the artwork and text that I need to compose yet. It's been a long road getting the to end, but we're seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Going to try to do a couple vocal touch ups tomorrow night if my voice feels up to it. It's been a busy couple of weeks with the Corona Virus causing my day job management to keep people that can work from home, out of the office and working from home. I seem to be putting in more hours from home than I ever do when I'm in the office. Of course VPN is a bit slower than being in the office also. But we'll get thru this and hopefully my family and yours will endure without any illness. Will try to continue to post more often until the CD is sent off for mastering, replication and packaging. If anyone would like to pre-order a CD, let me know and I'll put you on the list. Cost will be $12.00 and there are 11 songs on the CD. I'm pretty proud of the outcome of the last year's worth of work on this. Scheduling session players, practicing drum parts, guitar parts, and vocals seems like all I've done between other sessions and projects, plus keeping mama happy doing little projects around the house (which I procrastinate for weeks or months before finishing them). Hope you all like the CD. If you like classic country, you should enjoy this project! Hope you like it as much as I LOVED working on it. A big thanks to all the people that worked on this from session players and background singers to Laura Darting Photography to Travis McConnaha and "KTBF" for doing the artwork. Hope I haven't left anyone out. Stay tuned for more in a day or two! Sorry again for not posting for such a long time! And SUPORT LIVE MUSIC in your area! There are a lot of great musicians out there to go listen to when the venues open back up again! Stay well all!!!!

Hi all you music lovers. Just a quick note to let you all know that my project, Merle, Mel, and Me, is getting closer to reality. All the scratch tracks are complete. Final drum tracks, acoustic guitar tracks, and scratch vocals are ready for the pickers to come in and do their magic. The final piano and string parts are complete thanks to my friend and brother Mr. David Sulzberger, monster pianist and keyboardist. Next up will be Mr. Ron Conkin to put his magic fingers to the guitar tracks. Following that will be Mr. Dennis Detweiler on pedal steel laying all of his great, sweet, and edgy tracks and Ms. Jeanne Morrison to lay the solid bottom on the bass tracks. Jeanne has a touch on the country bass that make the rhythm tracks as solid as they come. Jeanne will also be singing harmony vocals which lends her voice to great smooth harmonies. Following all this will be my turn to lay the final lead vocal tracks and then I'll be getting to work on the editing, mixing and mastering of the tracks to make the project complete. Somewhere in this very busy time will be a photo shoot for the CD and me composing the liner notes, then the replication of the CD's. So I'm hoping for a November release. Just in time to go on sale for Christmas! If anyone wants a copy of the CD, you can email me at [email protected] or call me on me cell at 563.299.9123 and we'll get you set up with a CD. So take care everyone and we'll post something again in the next few days. More exciting things to come. Also still waiting for the files to be returned to me for Mr. Ernie Pen*ston's new blues project so we can move on with this fabulous project. When it comes to blues, there is nothing like the voice of Ernie. He's played to audiences all over Europe and the U.S. One of the most powerful voices in the blues field that I've ever heard. He's one of a kind. Stay tuned folks.....good things to come!

Hey ya'll. Been quite a busy season. Working on three separate CD projects and some fill in work when possible. First of all, finishing a three year project with Dane Nealson. Gonna be a fine project for Dane. Looking forward to hearing finishing up the mxing and mastering. Also still working on the acoustic project with James Miller which is a very exiting new spin on metal tunes they've done in the past, only a very good acoustic version of the songs. Pretty bad ass! Finally, have been working on a great new blues project with Ernie Pen*ston. This is going to be a KICK ASS project for brother Ernest T. Great players from all over the U.S.A. on this project. Right now, I'm waiting on the keyboard and horn parts to come from Mr. David Sulzberger then we can start mixing and moving ahead with all the vocals. It's been an exiting year at Mischief Studio! Can't wait to hear what we'll be doing in 2019. Stay tuned!!!!!

I have the honor of working with a bunch of young people from Burma (now named Myanmar) the last few weeks working on a praise and worship project. They actually live and work in Columbus Jct. IA, but have come here from Burma. Outside of the language barrier it's been a blast. We did an album of 12 songs with four singers plus a choir of about 16. Came out great. The vocals from these sessions will be (have already been) sent back to a Burmese studio to be mixed with the band tracks (very talented Burmese musicians) and will be released worldwide in the coming months. From what I understand, their leader, Ester Sung does a lot of songwriting for herself and others and wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on their project. After researching a bit, I've discovered that she is a pretty BIG DEAL in Burma, and has several CD's and music videos out. After doing the choir of P&W songs, they asked me to do the vocals on a project of a group they simply call "Trio". This project has now been recorded and will soon be on it's way back to Burma for mixing, mastering and worldwide release on a pretty large scale. Of course the targeted audience will be Burmese people as both of the projects are in Burmese. I just wanted to say that it's been a pleasure working with these young people. They are the some of the most respectful, and genuinely nice people I've ever worked with. If you'd like, please go to Youtube and check out: Esther van Hnem Sung. She has a very good voice as do the other two in the trio. Their names if I can get them right are Zung Hei and Dawt Len Zing. i may be a bit incorrect on those names, but I'm not very versed at Burmese. I will be getting copies of the final CD once it's released, and will post snippets of some of the songs they have done. Good Stuff. Next up, working on a new music bed and jingle for CBI Bank and Trust. Kind of fun. I haven't done one of these in a while. Just waiting for Mr. Davis Sulzberger to send me back the files of the piano track. Guitar, Bass, and drum tracks laid, and voice over talent track laid. Should work out very well. Then back to work on editing and mixing a new project by Dane Nealson with all my great session players backing him up along with some of Danes friends doing duets and backing vocals with him. This post has turned out to be a mini-book. Sorry about that. I just haven't posted anything in quite some time. Hope all of you have a great summer. I'll try to be better about posting in the future when time allows!
