The Muscatine Mobile Food Pantry will hold its next distribution on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 4–6 p.m. at the Muscatine Church of Christ, 3601 Mulberry Ave.
This month, families have a new option: you can reserve a box online ahead of time to guarantee one is set aside. Reservations aren’t required — walk-ups are still welcome — but RSVP helps cut down on wait times and ensures no food goes to waste.
You’ll find all the details and sign-up links in the article linked in the first comment.
💙 Thank you to Muscatine Church of Christ and River Bend Food Bank and the many volunteers working to make this possible for Muscatine families.

Kickoff is 7:15, and we’ll have the full broadcast for you LIVE right here on Facebook, on YouTube, PCTV Channel 3, and discovermuscatine.com.

Sheep in the ring, kids on a mission—it’s time for the 4H/FFA Sheep Show!
These young exhibitors have been working hard behind the scenes: feeding, shearing, walking, and learning every step it takes to get a sheep show-ready. And now, it all plays out in front of the judges—and the crowd.
Some sheep will glide. Others will leap, sidestep, or try to go their own way. Either way, the kids keep showing up—focused, determined, and full of fair spirit.
📍 Live from the Muscatine County Fair Show Arena
📺 Watch online or on PCTV – MPW Cable Channel 3
🎤 Featuring live coverage, youth highlights, and all the moments that make this show ring unforgettable

First-time fair memories start right here—with a calf, a bucket, and a whole lot of heart.
The Bucket Calf Show is where the youngest 4H and FFA members get their start. These kids have raised their calves from just days old, learning how to feed, halter, groom, and care for them—often for the very first time.
It’s not about perfect showmanship or polish. It’s about effort, learning, and those proud, sometimes wobbly walks into the ring.
📍 Live from the Beef Arena at the Muscatine County Fair
📺 Watch online or on PCTV – MPW Cable Channel 3
🎤 Featuring introductions of each exhibitor, interviews with families, and more than a few big smiles (and maybe a few stubborn calves)
Come cheer on the youngest handlers at the fair—and see where the next generation of livestock leaders begins.

Muscatine is a great community. There, I said it. Now, what does that mean?
I’ve lived in Muscatine my entire life, except for a couple years in Iowa City for school. I love Muscatine. Is it perfect? No. Can it be better? Of course. Will it be better? You better believe it.
If you look at the history of Muscatine, it’s been a community that thrives when it exports products and ideas. Whether it’s lumber, pearl buttons, office furniture, grain products, retread tire processes or any other of the products and services Muscatine has exported from this quiet river town, we as a community, have always found a way to not just survive but thrive.
We firmly believe that it’s time for everyone - people in Muscatine, people looking for somewhere to visit, people looking for somewhere to grow their business or people looking for somewhere to start their business - to DISCOVER MUSCATINE.
Because of this belief, our team came together in an office in Historic Downtown Muscatine to produce something everyone in Muscatine can be proud of.
Are we a free newspaper delivered every week to all homes in Muscatine County? Yep
Do we have a web portal that brings together all things Muscatine? Yep
Do we produce video products including local shows featuring local hosts and guests? Yep
Do we help Muscatine businesses connect with people of Muscatine? Yep
Are we 100% locally owned by someone that grew up in Muscatine? Yep
Do our kids go to the same schools as yours? Yep
Do we serve the non-profits of the community, not just by posting their events and press releases, but by volunteering and service on their boards? Yep
Are all of these things important for a local media company? ABSOLUTELY
If you have any questions about Discover Muscatine, what we do or what we can do to better serve Muscatine (including all our surrounding communities), just stop by our office at 215 E 2nd St. in Downtown Muscatine. You’ll find the whole staff, the owner and a whole bunch of cool stuff.
Thanks for your enthusiastic support and confidence in us!
