We’re happy to announce that submissions are now open for MCC’s Fall 2024 Creative Writing and Art Contest!

The theme this year is the centennial celebration of Muskegon Community College, and we ask that all submissions be created around the theme of celebrating moments at MCC. Whether that be writing of an experience you’ve had on or near campus, photographs of the building and/or events around MCC, or just anything MCC! If you have any questions regarding if a submission meets the criteria, please reach out to [email protected] and she will gladly assist in answering your questions.

Submission deadline is November 21st, 2024. All submissions will be featured in this year’s edition of River Voices.

We need to give a special thanks to Gemini DaPoet Davis for joining us for our ribbon-cutting ceremony. This was such a big night for us! We are genuinely honored to both have her featured in our new author's garden and for her to have been there to read her amazing poems. We hope this garden will foster and inspire those in our community and it could not be possible without talented artists like her.

Exciting news! Gemini DaPoet will be joining us for the Michigan Authors Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to read some of her work. Please join us this Wednesday at 5:30 PM at the Outdoor Learning Center (the rooftop terrace) to hear her works, listen to other live readings, and grab some snacks!
