🐶💔 new home needed
⚠️One week or forced to surrender to shelter. East side of state. Located: Warren MI
If you’re not willing to read entire post, please do not waste my time. This post is for serious enquirers only.
This is Rocky, approaching 2.5 year old, unaltered, unregistered american pitbull terrier. Has been loved and well cared for whole upbringing with zero problems. Family was blessed with new baby, all has been great till recent work scheduling changes that has forced his humans to be gone more and for longer durations at a time. New life changes has caused rocky to be kenneled and alone more than they want him to be. Regular routine has been off, resulting in potty and behavior changes. Just recently there was an incident that their baby toddler was zooming around the corner, startled Rocky and he reacted differently than he ever has before with dominant & forward body language. No injury occurred but they don’t want to take any risks and feel it is in the best interest of Rocky to find a new family that can better meet his needs. This decision is not easy for his owner, but his human child comes first. Rocky has been to my home many times for weekend stays during family get togethers since a puppy, and was a very good boy. It has been approx 8mo- one year since he has been up here with me and socialized outside of his current home.
Rocky is looking for a calm environment, small family, and a yard to play. He’s a big and playful boy so he will require proper fencing (and this breed can scale 4’ effortlessly) No young children or other animals in home is best because Rocky will need time to re-adapt to new home, new humans, and new environment. Experienced large breed handler and safe living environment is a must!! This will be a big emotional change for Rocky, as he is extremely attached to his human that he has been with since being weaned as a baby. After a few months, use your best judgement on any additional animals.
(Yes I understand getting animals fixed can help behavior changes but they are still not willing to take any risks with their baby. After long discussion and thought, their decision has been made)
For anyone wondering…. No i cannot take him. I have four senior dogs now, two large size dogs that are NOT good with other dogs outside of home. One especially i dont trust with strangers or even a child. On top of my farm with like 35+ animals.
Time is ticking, so Pm me if you are interested in providing a forever home for Rocky. He is up to date on vaccinations & rabies. He is due for deworming soon. Flea meds optional. Small rehoming fee, and 1/2 refunded to you if you end up getting him neutered within first month.
Repeat: Experienced large breed handler and safe living environment is a must. No children or other animals in home. Tome allowed to emotionally adjust to new environment and humans (dog can take 1-7 to adjust, some cases even longer) g the
