Happy Sunday to you all! I hope you all had a great week! It is soon time to start a new one!

I’m at work now and will have Monday and Tuesday off. I don’t have any overtime scheduled for October so I plan on detecting as much as possible and also adventuring with Mrs. Ripcode!

Mrs. Ripcode and I pass this volleyball sandlot on most of our walks. I decided to detect it and see if I could scoop some coins and maybe some jewelry. Rings are my favorite finds! 💍

Based on history and location, I did not expect to find anything old, but boy was I wrong! 🤯

It was a solid 72-75 signal at first, and the deeper I dug, the better the signal! It was pretty deep, and I started expecting a can. Instead, a dark object popped out, which I thought was maybe a dog tag. I looked closer and read “Drink Coca-Cola sold everywhere 5¢”! I flipped it over and saw a woman holding a Coca-Cola glass.

Oh how cool! I guessed maybe a modern or reproduction Coca-Cola promotional item. I started research with friends online and discovered this was a real Coca-Cola watch fob made in the early 1900s! They were made of brass, silver-plated brass, gold-plated brass, and also solid sterling silver. I think mine was silver-plated, as I can see traces of silver plating on it.

How did it get here? This is another example of we never know what we’ll find in the ground!

I’ve only found one other watch fob before this!

We were on our way to Traverse City for a long weekend getaway. We had planned to stop at a permission on the way but the permission was cancelled enroute! 😕

We decided to stop at Five Shores Brewing in Beulah for lunch and drinks. We arrived at noon and found out they had switched to fall hours and didn’t open until 4pm! 😖

Mrs. Ripcode's optimistic spirit shone through as she suggested we try the beach at Crystal Lake. It was so cold and we only found a few things! The highlight was the Puss in Boots car that Mrs. Ripcode found!

This is why I love detecting with Mrs. Ripcode. She makes the best of any situation and rejoices in all her finds! ❤️

Once again the field of dreams has given up another treasure! The signal sounded like a quarter (which I have dug so many here!) and instead out popped a neat silver ring! This find made my day! 👍🏼

I also dug a 1951 wheat penny, a bullet like object marked “tokidoki”, and a handful of clad. You can also see the trash. 😊

I enjoyed a warm day in the Michigan sunshine. Fall is coming so I am grateful for this time. ☀️
