Today’s hunt started slow… then ended on a sweet high tone! 🎶
I headed back to a late-1800s/early-1900s farm and dump site in southwest Michigan. This place started as a farm in the 1800s and later became a dump for hotels from Grand Rapids. The dump was used until the mid-1920s, and everything dated so far has been 1922 or older.
Finds included:
-Harmonica reeds.
-Pocket watch backing.
-Aluminum thimble.
-Part of a cufflink?
-Intact Ball jar lid glass.
-Brass plate marked:
"THE GLACIER
MFD BY THE
NORTHERN
REFRIGERATOR CO.
GRAND RAPIDS MICH"
But the find of the day was definitely this beautiful STERLING silver spoon! 🥄✨
Now I need your help…
Does anyone recognize the maker’s mark? 🤔
All finds were made with my Minelab Manticore paired with the M9 coil.
