About DJ Thirdegree
Hello, my name is Ian Bernal and I am the owner and DJ of I.G.B Entertainment. I have been living in the Northern Virginia (NOVA) area for the past several years now. I grew up in a military household that traveled frequently to places such as South Korea and Germany. I moved to the United States in the late 1990’s, and later completed my Bachelor of Art degree in Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) and Literature, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). While studying at the university, I was able to travel more extensively and to explore the regions of France. In my travels, I found a passion for learning about different and amazing cultures. Being raised by my wonderful Puerto Rican parents, traveling the world, graduating from the university, and growing as an entrepreneur, have all given me the opportunity to develop into a diverse individual. I find it amusing when people ask me, “Where are you from?” There is always a little hesitation when I respond . . . . after all, I’ve lived all over!
I began playing music as a hobby in High School, and later my hobby evolved into a colorful career. Over the years, I have learned many “Do’s” and “Do Not’s” from playing at a variety of venues. A few examples range from working at nightclubs and being able to read a crowd, to private events, holiday parties or weddings, that require a specific music format. I aim to please and entertain the crowd; that is what feeds my love for what I do and enables me to continue to grow in my career. The values I have obtained throughout my life have put I.G.B Entertainment in a great position as a trustworthy and professional business. It is because I take pride in my job and sincerely care about your special day, that I have never had a dissatisfied customer.
