Ocean over-wash happening this evening in both Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. First Street area in KDH and Town Of Nags Head reporting several areas. What are you seeing?

With tonight's high tide, taking place now, we're seeing a bit of overwash on South Virginia Dare Trail, by Cottage Row, south of Hollowell Street and north of Small Street, and in the area of the 10000 block of South Old Oregon Inlet Road. Nothing terrible, but just be aware and prepare to take extra caution if driving in those areas this evening.

Manteo, N.C. — Due to concerns over forecasted weather conditions and travel safety, the Kool & The Gang concert originally scheduled for August 30, 2025 at Roanoke Island Festival Park has been rescheduled to June 13, 2026.

All tickets and vouchers purchased for the August 30, 2025 date will be honored for the new show date. Guests who are unable to attend the rescheduled concert may request a full refund from their original point of purchase. Please note, refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of this announcement.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our fans, staff, and artists. We look forward to welcoming you for an unforgettable evening with Kool & The Gang in June 2026.

Dare County issues State of Emergency and evacuation of Hatteras Island.

Hurricane Erin is forecast to bring life-threatening impacts to Dare County, including coastal flooding and impassable portions of NC Highway 12.

A State of Emergency has been declared for all areas of Dare County.

A Mandatory Evacuation has been issued for Hatteras Island (Zone A). Zone A includes all of Hatteras Island, including the unincorporated villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras.
