Aperture Media & Design is a growing media production company based in Napa, California. We are a fast-paced team of creatives who believe that storytelling is a craft. The Position:
As our business grows we are looking to add a dedicated video editor to spearhead all post-production efforts. The editor will ingest footage, compile multi-cams, assemble rough cuts, incorporate client and team feedback, and refine final deliverables. The Video Editor will also oversee our archives and data management for the organization. The Video Editor will participate in production planning as needed and be an integral part of the Aperture Media Production Team.
The Video Editor will report directly to the Chief Production Officer and collaborate with clients and other team members as needed. The Editor may also supervise and direct work of Production Assistants as needed. The ideal candidate will come equipped with a strong, diverse portfolio and will demonstrate skill in creative storytelling and time management.
This is a part-time 32 hour a week contract position that has potential to grow into a full time contract or salaried position. This is an in-person position with the ideal candidate able to work out of our headquarters in downtown Napa, California.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone who is a go-getter. The ideal candidate would be described as dependable, independent, flexible, and creative. There will be times where our Editor goes from working at a desk for weeks on end editing corporate video that will be only shown to a handful of executives to being thrown into the middle of a music festival editing content that will be seen by millions of viewers from around the world. We have fun while we work, but we expect our editor to bring enthusiasm and professionalism to all of their work, big and small.
Technical Abilities
• Ability to use Final Cut Pro X prefered, other video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve okay.
• Skill in motion graphic creation/editing is a plus.
• Ability to creatively tell a story using video.
• Strong understanding of pace and rhythm in editing.
• Good eye for color grading and ear for sound mixing.
• Ability to deliver consistent, quality work.
Collaborative Abilities
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with team members.
Sharp problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines with minimal supervision/intervention.
• Extremely well-organized, highly adaptable to new workflows and projects.
• Ability to work directly with team members, contracted labor, and clients with professionalism and respect.
Ability to supervise contractors and projects as needed.
Pay:
The pay for this position is $30 an hour with a minimum of 32 hours per week.
