The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show

10/02/2026

Well, we did it. We brought The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show to the legendary FitzGerald’s Nightclub. Our cast was stellar, the band was fantastic and the sold out crowd was one of the best we’ve had. There were tons of laughs and even audience participation (Berwyn!). Thank you for supporting our show. We’ll see you in two weeks at Skeleton Key for our season five premiere!

It’s that time again! The leaves are starting to change, the air is getting chilly, the goths are emerging from their summer slumbers; it’s almost October! That means it’s time for the season premiere of The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show! This is our fifth year! That’s five years of guns, ghosts, goofs, gals and gumshoes. We’ve changed a lot since that first show back in October 2021. Our cast has grown, our band as well. We’ve won awards and made a small name for ourselves with this niche pulpy production. This season is going to be a celebration of all things Spectral Silhouette. New venues, new formats, hey, we might even change our underwear! Our season five premiere is a very special episode, because it will be the first to feature audience participation! You, the audience, will pick from three endings live during our program! It’s a choose your own adventure but without all that annoying reading! It’s going to be a blast, so make sure to get your tickets tomorrow (9/30) at noon before they all sell out. Link will be in the comments! Thank your for supporting our program! You, deserve it!

We are one week away from our sold out performance of The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show at the historic FitzGerald’s Nightclub in Berwyn. It is an honor and a dream to be bringing our award-winning production to such a legendary stage. To commemorate the occasion, we have a brand new show that takes place in the Club Ritz, which was what FitzGerald’s was called in the 1930s. Many members of Capone’s crime family were regulars, like Jack “Machine Gun” McGurn, so we figured it was the perfect setting for a pulpy detective program featuring a mobster ghost. This show is not our season premiere, it’s more like a special. It’s a one off story that’s full of jokes, spirits, and references to Berwyn, and we’re sure you’re going to love it. Our actual season five premiere will be at Skeleton Key with performances on Oct 13th, 14th and 15th, so keep an eye out for when those tickets go up (Sept 30th!) Looking forward to seeing everyone, and bringing our production to the City of Homes. Berwyn!

Thank you for the kind words FitzGerald’s! We will see you Oct 1st!

“Selling out” the nightclub is rare. Selling out the nightclub on your first show here (in less than 24hrs) is an abnormality. We have to give respect where respect is due and are very much looking forward to celebrating new relationships, creativity, and live performances in our beloved space (as we’re sure you are too!). Congrats to team Skeleton Key Brewery and The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show 👏

We are bringing our award-winning show to the legendary FitzGerald’s Nightclub on Oct 1st! Tickets on sale now!

FITZGERALDS & Skeleton Key Brewery Present: The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show LIVE! at FITZGERALDS Nightclub on 10/1. Tickets to this fully seated show are on sale now on our website (and in comments below).

"The award-winning (L.A. Webfest 2025’s Best Comedy/Adventure Podcast, T.O. Webfest 2025’s Best Sound Design) Spectral Silhouette Radio Show is coming to Fitzgerald’s Nightclub on October 1st!

What is the Spectral Silhouette? It’s one part mystery audio drama, one part musical, all parts… uh… equal parts… um… private parts… whatever, it’s hilarious! Featuring a full jazz band, an original script and songs, and a twenty-person cast and crew, The Spectral Silhouette is an ambitious production from the Chicagoland area that recreates the magic of pulpy old-time radio shows like The Shadow and blends that stereo stardust with modern sensibilities and humor. You’ll laugh! You’ll chuckle! You’ll guffaw!

So, what’s it about? Well, a clever but somewhat bumbling detective named Monty Eldritch is shot during an armed robbery. Legally dead for five minutes, he shakes the cold grip of the Grim Reaper with the aid of medical professionals. When he regains consciousness, he finds that he can hear the voice of a deceased mobster named Sil. The two agree to work together to find Sil’s murderers in exchange for assistance with Monty’s cases. Aided by his trigger-happy partner, Penny Aster, and otherworldly insights from his ghostly ally, Monty becomes the Spectral
Silhouette.

Sponsored by Skeleton Key Brewery in Woodridge, Illinois, Silhouette started as a one-off production that grew in size and popularity over the years due to word of mouth. One show a month turned into three sold-out monthly performances, eventually leading to theater debuts around the Midwest and awards from festivals nationwide—and a few international ones, too.

As of 2026, the show is in its fifth year of sarcastic ghosts, despicable crooks, and randy
mediums, and there’s no better way to celebrate this quinquennium (that’s a word, right?) milestone than with an exclusive performance at the legendary Fitzgerald’s Nightclub!

Kick off spooky season the right way with The Spectral Silhouette Radio Show, live October 1st at one of the oldest nightclubs in the Chicagoland area!

Night two was another hit, definitely one for the books. Sadly, tonight will be our last performance of the The Spectral Silhouette Season four finale. We’ve had a blast singing goofy songs and making jokes about pretzels; we’re looking forward to doing it one more time. Doors at 7, show at 730.
