Had a blast this week delivering pizzas from Lou Malnati’s to the hardworking crew at Baumgartner Construction on the Eagle Street Project here in Naperville. Just a small token of thanks for the big effort these guys are putting in.

This mixed-use development is expected to be wrapped up by Fall 2025, with a ribbon-cutting celebration slated for October 2025 (mark your calendars!).

Naperville District 203 Advances Plans for New Transportation Facility.

Naperville School District 203 is moving ahead with plans for a new transportation center on Fifth Avenue, as the Board of Education approved the use of $2.5M in surplus funds for design and engineering work.

The proposed facility would replace the district’s outdated bus operations site, currently located on leased land off Jefferson Avenue. The new build is expected to cost between $14.8M and $17.4M, with construction possibly starting as early as winter 2025.

District officials say the project will improve efficiency, centralize operations, and support expansion of the electric bus fleet. The existing site is no longer suitable for the district’s growing needs.

While most board members backed the investment, citing long-term cost savings and better support for transportation staff, one board member questioned whether a more cost-effective alternative had been fully explored.
