Avery White is admitted to the Lilydale Foundation Center for rehabilitation after she burned down her home and accidentally killed her father. Encountering dangerous hierarchies, bullies, facility admins, and even budding romance, she wonders if it was really a better alternative to prison.

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this why choose dark romance! Sexy, disturbing, a bit chaotic - and that cliffhanger! Needless to say I added the sequel to my TBR.

New Book Review! To Our Untamed Core by Sonido Reyes, out 9/22!

Temo is a teen trans boy living under a holy regime and taking sacraments to tame his supposedly violent nature. If his secret is discovered, he will be arrested and entered into a death tournament with other prisoners. But when his boyfriend is arrested, he will do anything to save him. Risking his life and those of his loved ones, he discovers the horrible truth behind centuries of lies and control.

Loved this story! This book is like The Hunger Games but q***r and Mexican. Lots of historical truths, characters to root for, and deeper insight into the cost of indoctrination.

To Our Untamed Core is a YA dystopian novel follows a teen trans boy discovering the horrific truths of the religious indoctrination that endangered the lives of his people.
