F1s are taking over! This black calf was supped to be full blood Brahman but a neighbor’s Brangus bull bred her. Make the story even better at the end of April the cow was palpated and was deemed open. So we gave her Lutalyse since other non-Brahman bulls had gotten into her pasture. Come to find out 2 months later she’s bred and had a calf. Any calf is a blessing, we just have to let God do the work!

We had our first Brahman calf born of the season! This heifer calf is out of JF Lady Frost Tens 10/2 and JDH Matias Manso 309/5. Tens has now had a calving interval of 369 days and this year 333 days! Tens is out of Miss CBR 610/6 and Mr. V8 714/7 “Mater”. Maternal power is something we strive for. This cow is J.D.’s where he can start his herd and college savings account.

BR Bristol’s Bella 418 placed 3rd at the Open show in Fort Worth an 8th at the Open Show in San Antonio. Bella is also 70 Days bred! She id exemplifying the traits from the baseline of our herd from her grandmother being out CBR 610/6, a Jennessa Great-Granddaughter, and an Elmo granddaughter. We are so proud of Bristol with her accomplishments with all her heifers her senior year!

He is an Elmo son and has been siring our Mr. V8 714/7 “Mater” daughters. Be on the lookout this spring for his calf crop!
