Chinese officials who enable opioid trafficking through intentional inaction or who have significant regulatory responsibilities related to these activities.
Enhanced reporting: The act requires the administration to report annually to Congress on its efforts to counter foreign opioid trafficking, including investigations into Chinese entities.
Extended statute of limitations: It provides a 10-year statute of limitations for violations under sanctions laws related to the bill, extending the time for enforcement.
Periodic evaluation: The legislation requires an annual evaluation of the effectiveness of emergency powers used to address the national emergency concerning international drug trafficking.
