Christian True Crime Junkies has launched!

My squeaky-clean crime show for believers just dropped!
Well, exciting things have been happening here in rural Alaska. For the past several weeks, my best friend and podcast cohost Jaime Hampton and I have been keeping a secret.

Today it all comes out in the open!

How God redeemed my guilty pleasure ...
I first started listening to true-crime podcasts because as a suspense writer, I needed to get more ideas. I wanted to know how crimes in the real world got solved.

What I found was that (a) true-crime is really, really fun to study and learn about (and somewhat addictive), and (b) most true-crime is presented with a lot of crass joking, rude language, and political rantings that didn't really help my relationship with Christ in many significant ways.

For years, true crime was my guilty pleasure.

Now, it's my calling ...

Redeeming the genre

True crime is filled with stories of survivors and testimonies of God's grace and power.

These are the stories we're telling on Christian True-Crime Junkies. Like the story of Toby Dorr, a middle-aged woman who helped a convicted murderer she was having an affair with break out of prison and ended up serving over two years for her crimes.

Yes, Toby made terrible mistakes, but God used her time in prison to be a mentor and a mother figure to many hurting women, and now she has a thriving ministry helping women set healthy boundaries so they don't end up in a place like she did.
