Latest story from me: New York City FC Head Coach Pascal Jansen taps into a fearless family legacy to shape a bold new era at New York City FC🗽⚽️

“One of my inspirations is by my Black, single mother… who had first gone into show business when she was only three to four years old, and made it her way being a successful singer, actress, dancer, and finished up with her own foundation and her own school. So, inspiring and working with athletes is almost similar to what she did when she was still alive.” — Pascal Jansen

On Monday (March 24), Julian Hall turned 17. He's not prepping to take the SAT, go to the prom or visit college campuses. He's playing first-team soccer with the New York Red Bulls. The kid from East Harlem scored his MLS first goal on Juneteenth 2024 and made his first MLS start March 8 this season, since playing his first Major League Soccer game in 2023 at 15 years, 190 days old.

Julian Hall is the frontman for most of the youngest to ever debut in MLS. Out of the 10 youngest debuts, six are Black. Here's why that's not by mere happenstance. Another story from me for Black Players For Change 📰 ✍

10 youngest to debut in MLS, six are Black, including four in the top 5. Hall is third on that list, accompanied by Adu, Alphonso Davies, Axel Kei, Matai Akinmboni and Nimfasha Berchimas.
