We lost our metal Paul Bunyan 😢

To some, he was the Butcher. To others, the big scary looking guitarist of ETID with the crazy mustache. But for the past 27 or so years, to us, he was just Andy Williams. Full name, always. Perhaps it was a way of avoiding confusion with any other “Andy”, but I think it was actually our own little unwritten rule to ensure the mythological scope of his foreboding physique and magnetic personality were properly respected. He lived so much life in his 48 years, but he deserved so much more time. And we all deserved more time with him. More riffs, more wrestling matches, more jokes, more conversations about “nasty riffers”, guitars and gear. The world deserved more Andy Williams. He is a legend. A folk hero. Our very own Paul Bunyan. No one in our world will ever stop talking about Andy Williams. And that’s the closest thing to immortality anyone could hope for. Our heart breaks for his family and those who were closest to him, particularly his wife Hana, who adored him beyond words. RIP to one of the nastiest riffers of all time, Andy Williams. Full name, always.

Rest easy, Andy.

Kyle Turley joins the Vulgar Display of Podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about his NFL career, heavy music, player health, CTE, and the battles former players continue to face long after leaving the field.

A former NFL offensive lineman who played for the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams, and Kansas City Chiefs, Turley built a reputation as one of football’s most intense personalities. That reputation was cemented by his infamous helmet-throwing incident, a moment Turley doesn’t shy away from and instead embraces as part of the mentality that defined him as an offensive lineman.
