Hosts Mike Adams and Joy McNaughten invite Local Outdoorsmen Trent Johnson and Johnny Hamilton to talk about managing your private ponds and the importance of volunteering with veterans organizations. In his new book, "The Education of a Senator: From JFK to Trump", Alexander gives detailed stories and insight from working with 10 presidents during some of the most important moments in US History.
A traditional Republican, Alexander doesn't agree with the extreme right point of view, but he doesn't like being called a moderate. Alexander says, "Conservatism properly understood includes flexibility and patience... If you're elected, there will likely be people who disagree with you, so if you want a result, you have to adjust your position to deal with them. One of my principles is flexibility... How are you ever going to do anything unless you compromise? How did we get Medicaid? How did we get Medicare? How did we get the National Park System? How did we get this country?... The whole political process is to take principles we mostly agree with and try to fit them together in a way most people can live with the result. That's what you do in public life."

Other topics include President Obama, January 6 and rebuking the Far-Right, Education and Policy Reform, and the loss of a strong two party system in Tennessee.

Although the show began as information about a letter sent to families with children in the state's Children's Special Services, the conversation turned to Tennessee’s poor public health rankings, placing between 41st and 45th among states for overall health and health outcomes. Life expectancy, maternal mortality, and infant mortality metrics are among the worst in the nation. Contributing factors include healthcare deserts, where residents must travel 60–90 minutes to see a doctor and more than two hours to reach a hospital. Dr. Laura Andreson and TJC Exec. Dir. Michele Johnson are our guests.

Tennessee children needing critical care are facing a devastating loss of medical services because of their immigration status. Families of children enrolled in the Children's Special Services state program were sent a letter giving them until June 30, 2026, to disenroll their child from life-saving care or risk being reported to ICE.

Tennessee Justice Center Executive Director Michele Johnson believes the state is applying a recently enacted law intended for adults, not children—especially since federal law requires that emergency care and life-saving treatment be made available to anyone, regardless of immigration status, insurance, or criminal history.

TJC is urging Tennesseans to call Governor Lee's office. Johnson says, "Any leader that calls themselves a person of faith would never have intended this for happen. Maybe they just didn't understand. We're asking people to call the governor 615-741-2001 and say, 'Surely you did not mean for toddlers to be disconnected from ventilators and for 8 year olds to be denied chemotherapy. Surely you did not mean this. You can stop this.'"

If the State Health Department continues this course of action, TJC says it will file a lawsuit challenging the parts of it that are illegal.

Candidate for Congressional District 5, Chaz Molder is determined to keep his promise to defeat Andy Ogles in November. While traveling across the state, Molder hears the people's frustration with the incumbent, "Andy Ogles has betrayed us. He has not done what he said he would do. He spends more time on social media than he does helping the people back home. He's more concerned about making national headlines for the wrong reasons instead of local headlines for the right reasons. It's a serious time and we need serious people around the table for serious conversations."
