Mark Chesnutt was admitted to Baton Rouge General Hospital on Thursday morning after arriving in Louisiana for his show with Alabama. Doctors are running tests for a low sodium count and high blood pressure, and he remains stable and in good hands.

Because of this, Mark’s shows in Baton Rouge and New Mexico (Oct. 18) have been canceled as he focuses on rest and recovery.

Please keep him in your thoughts, and we’ll share updates as he continues to recover.

Alan Jackson has announced his final show – and he’s going out with a bang. “Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale,” is set for June 27, 2026 at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. Guests joining Jackson will include Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Lee Ann Womack, with more to be announced.

No one could take the place of Dolly Parton but Tim McGraw has stepped up to fill in. Last week, Dolly was forced to postpone her December Las Vegas residency, and now McGraw has scheduled the mini residency “Tim McGraw: Live in Vegas” at The Colosseum at Ceasers with shows on December 4, 6, 12 and 13. Thoughts and prayers to Dolly for a speedy recovery!

So sad to report that Singer/Songwriter Brett James has passed away at 57.

Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Member Brett James died today yesterday when his private plane crashed in North Carolina. He was 57. James is believed to be one of three people who perished in the accident.

ASCAP's Country Songwriter of the Year in 2006 and 2010, James has served on the boards of the CMA and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Among his hundreds of cuts are Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel” and “Cowboy Casanova,” Kenny Chesney’s “Out Last Night” and “When The Sun Goes Down” (f/Uncle Kracker), Jessica Andrews’ “Who I Am,” Rodney Atkins’ “It’s America,” Rascal Flatts’ “Summer Nights,” Chris Young’s “The Man I Want To Be” and Brantley Gilbert’s “Bottoms Up.” James tells some of his favorite songwriting stories in Country Aircheck's Hall of Fame profile from 2021.
