Join BCHS, Drew Stone, and Tish and Snooky (of Manic Panic) for a book talk on London ‘77: The Lost Archive, an incredible never before seen look at a musical era that changed the face of modern music. Buried and forgotten for more than 45 years, thesephotos by photographer Gregory Rudolph Smith have thankfully been rediscovered. For eighteen months in 1977 and 1978, Smith documented the golden age of the Punk era in London. Seen for the first time photos of Adam and The Ants, Generation X, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Crass, X-Ray Spex, The Slits and many others are documented during this inspiring moment in musical history. Curated by filmmaker, musician, and Bronxite Drew Stone, this almost forgotten archive is a rare glimpse into this vibrant time of the embryonic movement.
This book talk is from our “Uptown Rumble: Heavy Music in The Bronx” exhibit currently on display at the Museum of Bronx History and is part of The Bronx Punk Rock Summer Book Club. If you would like to join the club and receive copies of London ‘77: The Lost Archive and Lost Indignation (book talk on September 6, 2025), visit https://bronxhistory.org/punkrock or our LinkTree in our bio. Those who are not members, however, are welcome to attend.
