Next spring, New Yorkers will pay Broadway prices to see The Sound of Music return to the city in a brand new production, March 23, 2027, seventeen weeks only. Nashville gets the "hills-are-alive" magic five months earlier, for a fraction of the airfare.
The critically acclaimed North American tour of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic lands at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Jackson Hall October 13 through 18, directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien, the man behind Hairspray. Sixty-five years of "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss," and "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," Maria and the von Trapps, the whole irresistible thing, built to teach a new generation to sing and to remind the old one why it memorized every word.
Here's the part that matters today: tickets are on sale now at tpac.org. Eight performances, one week, and the shows families circle always go first. Set the alarm, grab the seats, and spend October telling everyone you saw it before Broadway did.
Climb every mountain. Start with the one to your calendar.
