Funk at Zkeys
Jamming with Denny Jiosa at ZKeys Studio We started with Denny on the bass (its a Les Paul guitar with Octave pedal I think lol) Stylus RMX for drums with some verb and Echo on ccasion. I am playing The Access Virus Ti2 into Omnisphere/Keyscape. After we looped the Bass the whole track is a one take jam. Hope you like the slides too. This was all ITB except for the Warm Audio Compressors. What should we name this tune???

Excited to be Mastering Ross Walters new Gospel Record recorded ZKeys Studio Have it placed in WaveLab (great software WaveLab Users Group (Unofficial) ) I am doing both a -10 LUFS and -12 LUFS for itunes, although I know doing both doesn't matter lol. Ross has written and recorded some incredible and truly different music and I have been happy to participate as Player, recording engineer and mixer

Out with the new and in with the old! Allen Waugh's rebuild of the Harrison Console. Thanks to David Taylor for helping with the move:. Hopefully we will be all wired and checked next week..Man this was heavy lol. First photo was last week next is this week :)

So another upgrade for the mixing desk. So happy to have added Softube Console 1 to the rig at ZKeys Studio! Special thanks to Todd Urban for taking time at the NAMM Show to show me around the Console and also special thanks to Softube for the quick support I needed when I had a glitch during install. Great people, great company, and over the top product. I really enjoy not using my hands to mix :)

No longer using Antelope Audio Orion 32 HD or the Goliath, just to much trouble and lack of proper service in USA...
New interface and fantastic Drivers!!! The RME UFX plus and the Ferrofish 16 mx. The drivers are rock solid, thunderbolt is flawless on both Mac and PC. I am able to set up 10+ headphone mixes. ( I can route 8 inside room) and do remote headphone mixes from iPad. Special Thanks to Jeff from Rme for making great recommendations!

Just bought the GSi VB3-2 Software to use on the live rig along with my JamKey MM49.pro Kontakt + Spectrasonics Omnisphere/Keyscape and of coarse the great VSL software. I don't know yet if it will replace the HX3 but it sounds killer so far and it's soeasy to program the CC with midi learn. Two thumbs up!

I would love to be able to use with the NEO Ventilator but haven't figured out how to patch the hardware and software together. Anyone with ideas throw them my way!!!

Special thanks to Greg Lounsberry for sharing my Wurlitzer setup on his page :) All I can say is Lounsberry Pedals give keys the real bacon grease they need. Use them on my Hammond too!

Used the Warm Audio WA73 EQ preamps along with WA76 and WA2A exclusively yesterday for 8 hours of vocal overdubs. Hardware only, no plugins and no Plugins needed.... Warm Audio is the SHi% . Special thanks to Royce at Warm Audio for the recommendations, both my clients and I couldn't have been happier with the results. If you ever decide to do a SSL style compressor I am first in line :)

Very happy to announce that Zkeys is now a Warm Audio artist. Today I had plugged my new WA14 Mics into a Avalon 2022 preamp and put then through a series of tests on my Grand Piano and ended up loving them. I compared the WA14 to my go to Earthworks TC30 mics. These are both great sets of mics, the TC mics are very mid present and sound fantastic but the WA14 have a warmer more extended low end and a crisper high end also. These are smooth mics and I can’t wait to try on the upright! More to follow soon, thanks Warm Audio love these killer mics

Doing some overdubs today and using the great new KeyLargo keyboard mixer from Radial Engineering Ltd. The mixer does it all, I am running it as low latency sound card for MacBook Pro to run Spectrasonics and Kontakt, have 2 analog synths and the Rhodes going through it. It acts as both a direct box (classic Radial DI) and also a preamp. Small and powerful every keyboardist should check this gear out! Special thanks to Cam from radial for turning me on to this!
