The Ornaments started in 2005 as a local combo who wanted to play for friends and family the music of the greatest holiday special ever produced – Charles Schultz’s A Charlie Brown Christmas with its brilliant soundtrack by Vince Guaraldi.
Since then, their shows have grown into a Nashville holiday tradition that still stirs up that childhood feeling of sitting in front of the television with your loved ones on a cold December night while watching Snoopy and the gang.
Pianist Jen Gunderman, bassist James Haggerty, and drummer Martin Lynds play the classic Guaraldi record live from beginning to end and this year's featured soloist is Randy Leago from The Beach Boys. Santa Claus himself has made an appearance once or twice!

ABOUT MICHAEL WEINTROB
Two decades of navigating the music business and transforming the storytelling of image, photographer Michael Weintrob’s work spans all aspects of industry.
Created in the field where he has shot over 5,000 artists in-concert, on location and in the studio. He is based out of his East Nashvillle Studio. Weintrob’s work covers everything from advertising to editorial needs showcasing the live element of performance and conceptual campaigns of portraiture like his INSTRUMENTHEAD series which is now over 400 artists strong.
The INSTRUMENTHEAD collection is a surrealist look into the soul of a musician, not through their eyes as with traditional portraiture, but through his/her instrument. It began in April 2000, through a candid moment in a photoshoot with the Derek Trucks Band, which sparked an unprecedented art project, bringing together more than 500 musicians from across the globe over the course of nearly two decades.

Wishing a happy birthday to Valeria Semenzato. She was the designer for my Instrumenthead book. Because of her and Diego Orlando we won the award for Most Outstanding Design at the Independent Publisher Book Awards. I am looking forward to working on our new project together. This shot was taken at our printer, Grafiche Antiga in Italy in 2017.

Based in Chicago and Nashville, Kick The Cat is an internationally renowned jazz fusion ensemble. Musically, the band is within the virtuosic lineage of classic fusion/prog ensembles like Return to Forever and Weather Report but draws on contemporary groove elements, electronics and a healthy dose of humor as well. The result is a high energy of mind-bending rhythms, harmonies and kaleidoscopic textures that is surprisingly approachable.
