I posted this piece in December of last year. My regret was that I wasn't able to post it during the summertime. Summer is the best time to start prepping for Christmas cards, stocking stuffers, and care packages. (Or at least...that's been my experience!)

Many high-quality, low-cost Christmas cards may be found at estate sales and yard sale, and for some reason summer seems to be the harvest time. (And many times, you can find valid "forever" stamps being sold fo pennies on the...well, pennies! ;)

Finding and acquiring the "right" stocking stuff for the "right" person is an art, and it takes time. Most of the favorite items that I have given have required online purchasing. Find and order early, if possible. Stash them away in the house until that holiday moment arrives. This is especially true if you plan on ordering anything from overseas.
