Written by Jamie Johnson, Jim McBride, and Jerry Salley, "Memories I Ain't Missing" doesn't try to be anything other than what it is: a simple, sweet reminder to be present for the moments with your kids that you can't get back.

"This song idea first came to me just before I got sober, during a time when I was afraid to leave the road because I thought I'd be missing so much. But to my surprise, once I got home and started spending my days with my little boy, Cole, my whole perspective changed," says Grascals vocalist and guitar player Jamie Johnson.

"I called two of my favorite Hall of Fame songwriters, Jim McBride and Jerry Salley, to help make this song everything I hoped it could be — and they did just that. I'm happy to say that the eight years I spent off the road with Susie Q and Cole turned out to be the best years of my life, and I'm truly grateful for all the 'memories I ain't missin'.'"

"I never will forget the day I co-wrote 'Memories I Ain't Missing' with my dear friends, Songwriter Hall of Fame member Jim McBride and that 'singing-son-of-a-gun Grascal,' Jamie Johnson. We were at Jamie's house and his son, Cole, was just a little fellow. Jamie was already realizing how fast Cole was gonna grow up, and we wanted to write a song reminding us all to slow down and enjoy our kids while they are kids," shares Jerry Salley.

"It was an emotional write, and we all three knew we had a special song when we finished it. Though he has unexpectedly passed on, I'm sure Jim is smiling down right now with mighty approval that Jamie has given voice to this song and it has been recorded by the incredible Grascals. Thanks to Jamie and the band for reminding the world to 'make memories I ain't missin'.'"

Jamie shares lead and harmony vocals with John Bryan, joined by the rest of The Grascals: Danny Roberts on mandolin, Kristin Scott Benson on banjo, Jamie Harper on fiddle, guitar, and harmony vocals, and Kyle Perkins on bass.

"Memories I Ain't Missing" is the third single from the forthcoming album, Not Gone Yet, that will be available August 7 wherever you get your music.
