Celebrating the 13th trip up to the North Coast over the past couple of years, Joe’s Weekend in Cleveland is getting ready to start up again. Songwriting, recording, solo, duo’s and two full bands along with time spent with family and friends. This trip will also include three all original shows including the introduction of the newest listening room in Northeastern Ohio .. TJ's Songwriters Sunday at Planted Flag Brewing.

Joe’s Weekend in Cleveland - June 2023

Joe Rieg, originally from Cleveland Ohio makes the journey up north from Nashville Tennessee for a 10 day run of shows.

… now in it’s second year - the Weekend in Cleveland has grown to two weekends with a whole week in between… it all started working with Doug Price and the Front St Social to put together a Songwriting Showcase. The now monthly event is scheduled songwriters in 3 rounds of 3 playing 3 songs in a Nashville style round with a featured songwriter closing out the show. They welcome the newest and some of the best songwriters in Cleveland. With the success of this event it is now a weekly get together bringing new songwriters in to play their original material with the chance to play the Music City Monday Songwriters Showcase. Cash prizes and giveaways including a raffle for a MCM t-shirt with proceeds going to a local charity.

… during one of these shows about a year ago, a friend from another time stopped by to say hello .. that has now led to the Tammy & Joe Show. Living just down the road from Joe many years ago Tammy (Wade) Schneider stepped onto the same school bus and did that for many years. Growing up happens and life finds it’s path that sometimes returns you to who you used to know. Tammy mentioned she likes to sing and a week later she was in the band. Joe asked if she’d like to write a song and off they went .. the newest songwriting team in Cleveland Ohio.

…spending the next few months working on titles and lyrics, the stories began to flow and the songs were created. Recording sessions were booked in Nashville and working with Mike Loudermilk the first two songs were put together and released. Since then the songwriting team have written songs with plans to release a full promotional package of material.

… with all of this going on and Joe in Cleveland 6 times a year, he put the band back together. Along with Tammy on vocals and Doug on guitar they added Nate Rowell on bass to complete the 4-pc classic/modern rock band Wooden Ships. They play a wide variety of material starting their show with an unplugged set and then plugged in with Joe on drums to finish the evenings entertainment.

… all of this led to the TJ Show - Tammy and Joe’s acoustic duo playing shows.

Classic and Modern Rock to Country and the Blues - originals too .. booking shows seven days a week and playing 7 of the 10 days on the June 2023 Weekend in Cleveland schedule… available for House Parties, Corporate Events and any type of venue that has live music. They also book songwriting events and help new and old writers copyright and register their material.

… so what’s next .. the TJ team will be creating a new band that favors the female country side of music and are in the process of auditioning guitarists .. please contact them at www.joerieg.com if you or anyone you know would be interested in joining the band .. they also are looking for a lead guitarist for session work…
