Kami Knake is the host and curator of the Bands Under The Radar (BUTR) music podcast, blog and record label founded in 2004 that features unsigned bands and indie artists. BUTR podcasts have been downloaded over 4 million times, growing its grassroots fan base by introducing true music lovers to the best bands and songs that
they have never heard of. BUTR’s sole purpose is to be a trusted online music channel for a niche audience of music lovers who love to discover new music. Records (WBR), Agency for the Performing Arts (APA), and the Viper Room. Knake launched her music career at APA where she assisted booking national tours for Fleetwood Mac, Lenny Kravitz, Robert Plant, Judas Priest, Black Crowes, Boston, Poison, Bret Michaels, Cinderella, Whitesnake, Zakk Wylde, Dan Dyer, and many more. Knake passion for indie bands and seeing live music, led to her next gig booking and promoting BUTR Presents nights at the world famous Viper Room on the Sunset Strip. While continuing to book monthly nights at the Viper Room, Knake worked at WBR specializing in digital sales, marketing, and fan club management working with a diverse roster of artists, comedians, and film/TV soundtracks such as Michael Buble, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Chris Isaak, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mute Math, Rilo Kiley, Eisley, Muse, Guster, Depeche Mode, Faith Hill, Big & Rich, Michelle Branch, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, James Otto, Larry the Cable Guy, Frank Caliendo, Ocean’s Twelve, Nashville Star, and The O.C. In 2009 Knake left the corporate world and launched BUTR MGMT where she currently consulting for artists, entertainment professionals, and digital music start-ups. Some clients Knake has worked for are as follows: The Orchard, Glotown Records, Big Kenny, Topspin, Mobile Roadie, Damntheradio/FanBridge, Brite Revolution, etc. In 2010 Knake was a DJ on South Africa’s largest rock station, 5FM, as part of DJ Jon Savage’s Power Nite of Rock program. My latest obsession is this country rap or country trap song as calls it. This song will dominate clubs this summer!! It’s a viral hit on Spotify with over 64M streams in just 3 weeks!!!And today released a bad ass remix of it. A new genre is forming. I love it when genres merge.
