Unlike everyone else, I needed a bit more time to find the right words to say right now. As of just after midnight this morning on December 21st, my mother Patty West Taylor passed away.
Having been diagnosed in 2015 with a lung disease that most only live up to 5 years with, she managed to go on despite the struggle for 8. That in and of itself is a miracle from God, and should stand as a testament to what our Father in Heaven can do.
Frankly, how anyone with no faith or belief in God or our Savior Jesus Christ manages to get through times like these is beyond me. But even though my relationship with my Mom and Dad has been very tumultuous over the decades I've been around, the one thing I will always be most grateful for, is that Jesus was ever present growing up and I didn't have to go very far to know who he is.
And knowing a lot of the things I know about this world has only increased my personal faith ten fold. So while this is a sad time from this side of Heaven, I KNOW where my mother is!
And I KNOW she is very much alive in Heaven in the presence of our Almighty God!
You can't put a price on that kind of comfort knowing that it will only be a matter of a little time and we will see her again soon, and in better shape than she ever has been.
And while that part is easy for me to say, for my Dad who knows this too, it's a bit different. How can it not be?? The closest I have ever come to understanding something like this is losing a cat I had and loved for 3 years. Try losing your wife after 63?
I can't, and don't even want to imagine that. Even with the knowledge of the promise of God of eternal life for those who believe in Christ our Savior!
The world at large has reached a point where the message of the Gospel of Jesus has NEVER been more important to get people to understand. There absolutely IS life beyond this world. BUT ONLY for those who trust and believe in Jesus Christ. That's IT! Period.
My prayer for those that do not know this is that you find God and come to Christ any way you can. For there is little time left as we enter the very last days of this age as the Bible has so CLEARLY stated!
For my mom, her journey has ended on this earth in this time, but we WILL have an eternity to make up for whatever mistakes we both have made. And for that I'm eternally grateful.
The pictures cover only a blip over the time my parents had together, but as you will see she lived a very full and blessed life honoring God the entire time. Especially when it came to the beach and football. I'm actually kinda glad she won't be around to see the Titans continue to tank the rest of their season this year.
