I went to SEMA years ago for the first time, hopefully not the last, and I was sent by Beardilizer. I was enamored by the vehicle builds there. I went with my buddy Brad Beall, who I now own Beardilizer with, oddly enough, and when he found out that Jay Leno was there, he said he couldn’t leave without a picture. So we went to the Lenos Garage booth to meet him. When we got there, there was a line that wrapped around the wall for a mile. I said to Brad, “you sure about that not leaving til you get a pic, haha!” He insisted that we wait and so I waited with him. I was getting more and more irritated the longer we had to wait, and it seemed like we waited an eternity. Letting my frustration be known, I said to him, “we gotta get out of here, this line isn’t even moving, bro,” and “this is actually ridiculous, how long this is taking,” and I was saying these things loud enough for the others in the line to hear me - maybe they would here the logic of my statements, and just leave, and then we would get bumped up in the line, haha! That didn’t happen, but as I was thinking of just leaving my place in line and finding out why this line isn’t moving, a man from Jay Lenos team comes up to me. Apparently he was a fan of my music and he and I talked for a while, while we waited. He very nicely let me, and everyone else, know what the holdup was. He and I texted back and forth a couple of times, but I can’t remember his name now, sadly. I was wanting to reach out to him again, because I saw this picture, and check up on him; maybe he’ll see this and I can. Anyway, the moral of the story is, you never know who’s watching, or listening, so never let a situation cause you to ‘lose your cool’ and ruin your witness, or your reputation. Someone said to me once, “It takes a lifetime to build a reputation, but only one moment to wreck it.” Jay Leno's Garage Group if yall know who I’m talking about, tell him to hmu.
