Thousands of Nashville homeowners say their property tax bills skyrocketed after this year’s reappraisals, and most appeals were denied.

Homeowners tell FOX 17 News they don’t mind paying their fair share, but many say their homes could never sell for what the county claims.

Metro Councilmember Jacob Kupin says he’s hearing the same frustration from local business owners, who warn the rising rates could change the atmosphere of downtown Nashville.

✈️ TRAVEL ALERT | BNA DELAYS & REDUCTIONS

If you’re flying today, check your flight status before heading to BNA.

The FAA just issued a ground delay program for flights arriving to Nashville International Airport, with average delays of more than 2 hours through midnight.

At the same time, the ongoing government shutdown is forcing reduced flight operations nationwide due to a shortage of air traffic controllers, a ripple effect that could stretch delays even further.

This comes during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year; fall break.

We’re tracking how this could impact your travel plans, and how long these reductions could last, tonight on WZTV FOX 17 News, Nashville.

👉 Elementary, middle, and high school students would begin at different times to help deal with a bus driver shortage.

Some parents say later times would be tough on high schoolers with jobs or extracurriculars. Others believe it could cut down on school traffic.

What do YOU think? Should schools stagger start times?
