Happy first day of SCHOOL!! 🍎✏️
In 2018, I started my first day of what would be my last year teaching middle school. 9 years!

That girl in the first picture had no idea that the next 8 months would be transformative, and that an early retirement was on the horizon!

Teaching was my identity. It was safety and routine and dependability. But there comes a point when staying in your safety net becomes a bigger risk than change…

This morning I’ve been thinking about the life I wouldn’t know now if I had stayed in my safety net for another 9 years.
The friendships, the experiences, the lessons learned, so many amazing opportunities, and so many rewards!!
I had no idea in 2018.

So today might not be your first day of school, but it may be another day in the life that you feel isn’t *quite* right for you anymore.
I’m here to tell you that the risk is worth it. I’ve never looked back. 🩷🧡

This retreat has become a treasured tradition in our Secrets of a Bridal Seamstress community, because it’s truly the reset we all need.

It’s the perfect combo of rest and play, reflection and intention, and most importantly- strengthening our friendships and welcoming new ones.💛

I’m especially excited for this year’s Fall Fest because it’s on home turf, and I get to treat my friends to my favorite local spots! 😍
…including a day at my studio for a sewing workshop!
