Between Berrien County Animal Control and the City of Nashville, we have 25 amazing dogs waiting for homes — from 8-week-old pups to 10-year-old seniors, big personalities to snuggly couch potatoes.

This Black Fur-iday, we’re offering half-off adoptions to help them find the families they deserve for the holidays. Every dog is vaccinated, fixed (or scheduled), microchipped, and ready to love.

Some of these dogs have spent holidays in kennels.

Goose Got Adopted!

Our big-pawed baby Goose has found his perfect forever home one that understands puppies need patience, love, and time to grow.

No unrealistic expectations… just a family who chose him for life, not for convenience.

Meet Goose, a 5-month-old red Mastiff puppy with a big heart, big paws, and big hopes…
and unfortunately, he was just returned after less than 10 days in a home.

Why?
Because he has… wait for it… puppy behavior.
Yes. A 5-month-old puppy acted like a… puppy.

Goose’s adopters work 12-hour shifts every day (and did before adopting him). That meant Goose spent nearly all day alone, with no structure, training, exercise, or companionship and then was returned for being “too much.”

But Goose isn’t “too much.”
He’s just a baby learning the world. 🐾

💔 This is why responsible adoption matters.

Puppies:
✔ chew
✔ jump
✔ need training
✔ need socialization
✔ need someone who has actual time for them
✔ need patience — not punishment or return slips

If you don’t have the time, energy, stability, or willingness to train a puppy…
please adopt an adult dog.
There is no shame in that — the shame is in adopting a baby and ditching him for being one.

Goose deserves a family who sees his potential, not his inconvenience.
