Following a deliberate succession planning process, the Board of Directors of Doctors Hospital Health System has unanimously appointed Dennis Deveaux, currently Chief Financial Officer, to serve as Chief Executive Officer effective February 1, 2026.
Before joining Doctors Hospital Health System as CFO in 2018, Mr. Deveaux held senior leadership roles in finance, strategic planning, and analytics within global organizations. His career includes senior roles at Toyota's North American and Global Material Handling divisions, where he led planning initiatives that supported $3.3 billion in annual revenue. He later served as Head of Data and Analytics for the local branch of a global accounting firm, where he also led their management consulting practice. Across these roles, Mr. Deveaux directed several innovative strategies to drive sustainable growth into new business fields.
Since joining Doctors Hospital Health System, Mr. Deveaux has played a pivotal role in the organization's expansion and transformation, driving expanded access in the pre-hospital (clinic) market in New Providence, Exuma and The Northern Bahamas. His leadership achievements include the system's expansion into the Grand Bahama market with the establishment of two outpatient clinics, and the development of a new 25-bed hospital scheduled to open in 2026. He also oversaw the company's acquisition of The Kidney Centre Limited, strengthening the health system's ability to deliver essential services.
The Board expressed strong confidence in Mr. Deveaux's steady leadership, deep operational expertise, and commitment to valuing associates, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and embracing new areas of medicine. Board Chairman Felix Stubbs noted: "Dennis' journey is one I have followed for quite some time. He is an exceptionally talented leader who embraces new ideas and collaborates effectively to pursue opportunities and solve problems. The Board of Directors stands ready to assist Dennis in his new role."
"It is an honor and a privilege to succeed Dr. Diggiss and to build upon his legacy, as well as the legacy of other pioneering healthcare leaders such as Board Director Barry Rassin," said Mr. Deveaux. "As I step into this role, my focus will remain firmly on strengthening patient care through expanded capacity and further increasing essential access. Doctors Hospital will also intentionally deepen relationships by collaborating with the Government of The Bahamas, as well as key private healthcare stakeholders who rely on the health system to serve their patients."
"I am immensely grateful for the Board of Directors' unanimous vote of confidence and for the support of the executive leadership team, particularly outgoing CEO Dr. Diggiss, who have rallied around my leadership," Mr. Deveaux stated.
"Dennis is a proven leader who brings new perspectives to the challenges confronting healthcare delivery nationally," said Dr. Charles Diggiss, outgoing CEO. "He has earned my full confidence and support, having contributed to our company's transformation during the COVID experience and beyond. I will remain a close mentor and ally, ensuring his success in my new role as President."
This strategic leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment as Doctors Hospital Health System continues to evolve and expand its role as a regional leader in healthcare delivery.
