Kanude to Perform at 615 Indie Live — Nashville’s Celebration of Independent Music

NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville-based Rock/Americana recording artist Kanude brings his inspiring, heartfelt sound to 615 Indie Live, performing at noon on Saturday, February 7 at Eastside Bowl as part of the city-wide celebration of Nashville’s independent music scene.

615 Indie Live — produced by the Music Venue Alliance Nashville (MVAN) in partnership with Visit Music City — returns for its second year on February 7, 2026.

The one-day indie music festival highlights Nashville’s vibrant independent venues and local artists with performances throughout the day across more than a dozen participating stages.

Kanude’s noon performance at Eastside Bowl kicks off 615 Indie Live during the opening party with a set that blends rich storytelling and gritty Americana roots — a sound cultivated over years performing across Music City and beyond. Fans will hear both beloved favorites and fresh material in a high-energy, intimate setting.

Greetings Lightstone Records family!

On December 8, 1998, the New York indie scene quietly enriched its legacy with the release of Val Holler’s debut studio album “Versicle.” Arriving during a pivotal moment for underground folk-rock, the album stands as a testament to the introspective songwriting that flourished in the late 90s.

Co-produced by Brad Albetta, who would later gain fame working with artists like Martha Wainwright, Versicle captured a specific, raw energy. It blended the acoustic warmth of the “eclectic troubadour” tradition with the polished grit of the city’s session musicians.

Tracks like “Copper Blue” and “Ten Miles to Bliss” showcased Holler’s ability (later releasing music as Kanude) to weave complex narratives with melodic grace.

Celebrated at its launch with a performance at the iconic Mercury Lounge in the East Village, the album remains a hidden gem of the era. It represents a time when indie music was less about viral moments and more about the craft of the LP—a “versicle” in the true sense: a short, spiritual verse meant to be heard and felt deeply. Today, we raise a glass to this 1998 release, a sonic capsule of 90s indie authenticity.

Beloved Brood o’ Kanude fans!

Today June 30th we celebrate the 8th anniversary of the release of Kanude’s album “Colors.”

The artwork was a concept that Kanude came up with to scan all of his concert stubs his earliest shows form Houston in the mid-1980s to the 2010s, and use them as the album art. The album artwork was created by his longtime collaborator Mike Frost.

Austin, TX — Americana/Rock artist Kanude (Nashville, TN) and Alt-Blues Rock band Triple Yummy Records (Ithaca, NY) are set to hit the stage during and around the annual SXSW Music Conference, showcasing their electrifying sounds at the 4th Annual BoxCar Entertainment "Austin Rhythm Revival."

Kanude, known for his song “Wheels” featured in HBO's "True Blood" series and his work on Robert Rodriguez’s “El Mariachi,” will perform tracks from his recent releases, including “Born Again in Tennessee” (featuring The McCrary Sisters), mixed by Shooter Jennings. The McCrary Sisters)," out now via Symphonic Distribution. The video, a visual love letter to Tennessee's rich musical heritage and personal rebirth, premieres today on all major platforms.

Directed by young filmmaker Eric Thole, the "Born Again in Tennessee" music video weaves together evocative storytelling and striking locations.
