BoxCar Entertainment Presents: 4th Annual Austin Rhythm and Roots at SXSW 2025 Featuring Kanude and Triple Yummy Records

Austin, TX — Americana/Rock artist Kanude (Nashville, TN) and Alt-Blues Rock band Triple Yummy Records (Ithaca, NY) are set to hit the stage during and around the annual SXSW Music Conference, showcasing their electrifying sounds at the 4th Annual BoxCar Entertainment "Austin Rhythm Revival."

Kanude, known for his song “Wheels” featured in HBO's "True Blood" series and his work on Robert Rodriguez’s “El Mariachi,” will perform tracks from his recent releases, including “Born Again in Tennessee” (featuring The McCrary Sisters), mixed by Shooter Jennings. The music video for the single was released on February 21, 2025.

Kanude Unveils Music Video for "Born Again in Tennessee (feat. The McCrary Sisters)" Premiering February 21, 2025

Nashville, TN – February 21, 2025 – Americana/Rock artist Kanude releases the official music video for his anthemic single, "Born Again in Tennessee (feat. The McCrary Sisters)," out now via Symphonic Distribution. The video, a visual love letter to Tennessee's rich musical heritage and personal rebirth, premieres today on all major platforms.

Directed by young filmmaker Eric Thole, the "Born Again in Tennessee" music video weaves together evocative storytelling and striking locations. The video mirrors the song's themes of redemption and homecoming. The track features soaring gospel harmonies from the legendary McCrary Sisters who add a profound spiritual depth, capturing the essence of the track mixed by Shooter Jennings at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, and mastered by Emily Lazar at The Lodge in New York City.

"This song is a celebration of the places and people who shape us," says Kanude. "The McCrary Sisters bring such warmth and authenticity, and we wanted the video to reflect that spirit while showcasing the visual landscape of Music City and Tennessee."

The video follows the release of "Born Again in Tennessee" on September 6, 2024, which has garnered praise for its soulful blend of Americana and southern rock. Kanude, known for his 2008 debut album track "Wheels" and his work on Robert Rodriguez's cult-classic film El Mariachi, continues to forge his unique musical path with this latest release.

Mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar at The Lodge, NYC (Vampire Weekend etc.) ⚡️. Emily mastered Kanude's first album "Versicle" when he performed as Val Holler way back in 1998.

From the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s, Kanude performed and released music on our label under the alias Val Holler. This is the first release of new music by the artist since 1998 which embodies his solo performances leading up to the formation of his short-lived band which released and EP and album in 1997 and 1998 respectively.
