CIR Music Publishing publishes handbell and instrumental music. But we also publish a beautiful choral mass setting by renowned orchestral composer Dr Michael Kurek .
According to Cantates Chris Mueller ...Michael Kurek's Missa Brevis, a setting of the Mass Ordinary for choir and organ. Not intended as a congregational setting, it’s instead a work fitting for especially solemn liturgies where the choir would sing the Ordinary in addition to its other duties. The music is composed in a haunting modern style that is both mysterious and exuberant. The composer says, “this ‘brief’ traditional Latin setting of the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Mass is written to be short enough for normal liturgical use, but may also be used secondarily in the concert hall.” It does not include a setting of the Credo.

To listen to this beautiful mass setting please search: "michael kurek missa brevis" in your browser .

Excerpts may also be found at JW PEPPER.
