Co-founded in 1995 by musicians Alison Brown and Garry West, Compass Records is a new breed of roots-music label: eclectic, sophisticated, and artist-friendly. Called “one of the greatest independent labels of the last decade” by Billboard Magazine, Compass Records has provided a thriving haven of creativity for artists and a reliable beacon of quality in roots music for the past 27 years. We at Mulligan Records/Compass Records Group are mourning the loss of Paddy Keenan. Undeniably a ‘king of the pipers,’ he was one of the most influential figures in Irish traditional music. His work with The Bothy Band, Tommy O’Sullivan and scores of others will influence generations to come. Rest in peace Paddy.
