When Meredith showed me this picture my first thought was “man I have a lot of grey hair!”. I remember this moment so clearly, the day the foundation was poured, and I remember feeling a sense of “ok, here we go, we’re really doing this”. What I didn’t realize is just how much inner work I had coming my way as part of the deal of my dreams coming true.
It’s easy to point at the foundation and at the framing of a building and have an understanding of the literal nuts and bolts of a build. What isn’t so obvious is that the journey will inevitably bring up lots of feelings with it, and I mean like long lost buried childhood type feelings.
What I’ve learned as we get close to the finish line, is that the invitation to build a studio was also an opportunity for me to heal some of those feelings that I had considered long gone. The gift of the stress of the build, the gift of a dream coming true also brings with it the gift and opportunity to step into the growth more whole. I think it’s the same to one degree or another for all of us.
To all of the people out there courageously living and going for your dream, let me remind you that you can do it. You can step into your greatness, It won’t always be easy, or pain free. I can practically guarantee that it won’t be. With the leveling up comes an invitation (a requirement really) to heal, and this healing leads to a greater capacity for love for yourself and all of those around you. That is the capital “T” Truth.
