Two men are actively targeting elderly homeowners by posing as landscapers. One suspect distracts the homeowner at the front door while the other enters the home and steals jewelry.

Their vehicle is described as a dark gray Ford F-150 with tinted windows.

If you see them, do not engage. If you can identify them, call 615-742-7463 immediately.

Tennessee is closing a major loophole that allowed drivers to get license plates without showing proof of insurance or legal identification. Two new state laws are now changing how vehicles get registered in the state.

Lawanda Page, who lost her son Chazan in a hit-and-run in 2024, has been pushing for these reforms. “There needs to be some type of way to make sure we help hold people accountable,” she said.

HB 1690, sponsored by Rep. Tim Hicks, now requires proof of insurance to register a car. Penalties jump from $25 to $500 for uninsured drivers, and repeat violations within three years can result in fines up to $1,500 and registration suspension. This law takes effect July 1, 2027.

HB 1708 requires proof of lawful U.S. status to register a vehicle. A Tennessee driver’s license or state photo ID counts as proof. This law takes effect January 1, 2027.

Not everyone agrees with the changes. Undocumented immigrants say they need vehicles to get to work, and advocates argue the laws limit access for those who need it most.

Tennessee’s h**p industry is about to look completely different. Starting July 1, THCA, one of the most popular h**p derived products in the state, will be illegal to sell after the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission takes full regulatory control and begins enforcing a ban passed by state lawmakers in 2025.

THCA became a gray area because it technically falls below the state’s legal THC threshold on its own. But when burned, it converts directly into THC, the psychoactive compound in ma*****na that is already banned in Tennessee. That loophole made it one of the biggest sellers on the h**p market.

Industry experts say THCA makes up about 75% of all h**p sales in the state. With the July 1 deadline approaching, many businesses are bracing for what could be a collapse of the market. State tax projections for h**p wholesale revenue have already been cut from more than $55 million down to under $10 million.

A Montgomery County judge ruled Wednesday that the $1 million bond for controversial streamer Dalton Eatherly, known online as “Chud the Builder,” will remain in place in his attempted homicide case. Circuit Court Judge William Goodman III also ordered a nightly curfew if Eatherly posts bond, requiring him home between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The charges stem from a May shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse where Eatherly and Joshua Fox, a reportedly disabled veteran, both suffered gunshot wounds.

On the same day, Eatherly’s attorney appeared in Davidson County court over a separate case involving an alleged $400 unpaid bill at a downtown Nashville restaurant. Eatherly remains in custody in Montgomery County.
