Widow Jane Distillery introduces its Tequila Ocho Cask Finish Bourbon, finishing its flagship 10-year whiskey for eight months in Tequila Ocho barrels.

The release marks the first time Ocho casks have been repurposed for whiskey, continuing a collaboration that began in 2022.

The result highlights agave-driven brightness alongside Widow Jane’s signature intensity, with notes of overripe agave, chocolate pecan pie, dried mango, roasted agave, and coffee.

Bottled at 45.5% ABV (91 proof), the bourbon will be available on back bars and in bottle shops beginning May 2026, with an MSRP of $74.99.

A rare pour, and one worth talking about.

We had the chance to taste a true Small Batch, Sweet Mash Rye, and it absolutely delivered.

Made from just 14 barrels, this one really shows the care behind sweet mash production, a process you don’t see every day.

It opens with bright stone fruit and a touch of confectioner’s sugar, think peaches and cream, before moving into warm cinnamon spice, backed by a bold body and a clean, lasting finish. At 123.1 proof, it’s got plenty of presence without losing its balance.

This is the kind of whiskey that plays well in a Black Manhattan or a fresh Summertime Smash, maybe with a little peach and spice to match what’s already in the glass.
