This week’s “Gear Mania Mondays” featured piece is the Blue Microphones Bottle Rocket Stage 1 w/ Mic Locker. This week’s “Gear Mania Mondays” featured piece is the Korg Kaossilator Pro+, a synthesizer that lets you perform and create multi-layered music in any style --- with just the touch of a finger. The Kaossilator series was the forerunner of unique instruments that made it easy for anyone to play musical melodies and phrases. The KAOSSILATOR PRO, which appeared in 2010, was an updated model featuring a rich variety of sounds and loop recording functionality that made it not merely a live performance instrument, but also a track-making tool. 2013 brings us to the upgraded KAOSSILATOR PRO+. This week’s “Gear Mania Mondays” featured piece is the Moog Theremini, a re-imagination of one of the oldest electronic music instruments in history. The Theremini is possibly one of the world's strangest, spookiest musical instrument, which requires no touching. Simply control the sound with gestural movements, controlling pitch and volume with your hands. The Moog Theremini features pitch correction, tuner, built-in speaker, a headphone jack, stereo output jack, and mini USB jack for MIDI connectivity.

This week’s “Gear Mania Mondays” featured piece is the MXL DX-2, a uniquely designed dynamic mic with an adjustable dual-capsule. Designed for electric guitar, bass amplifiers and speaker cabinets. The adjustable k**b lets you blend the sound between each capsule. There is one super cardioid capsule and one regular cardioid capsule that lets you “dial in” your sound. The flat front-face design rests against speaker eliminating need for a mic stand.
