As Alan Jackson prepares for his farewell concert on June 27, many country music fans are asking the same question who takes over as the voice of traditional country music?

For more than four decades, Jackson built a career around traditional sounds, honest storytelling, and a refusal to follow industry trends. His 35 No. 1 hits, 44 million albums sold, and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame cemented his place among the genre's greatest artists.

Country music has no shortage of talented performers today. But replacing Alan Jackson is about more than hit songs. It is about protecting the traditional sound that helped define generations of country music fans.

Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert recently revealed that one of their songwriting sessions turned into an unexpected encounter with a snake.

During ELLE's "Three Generations" conversation with Reba McEntire, Langley recalled spotting a snake in the middle of a writing session at Lambert's farm. As Langley attempted to handle the situation herself, Lambert returned with a sh***un, later joking that the two were trying to "out-redneck" each other.

The snake was never harmed, as Langley managed to scare it away before Lambert had the opportunity to use the sh***un. Langley said Lambert was disappointed she arrived just a little too late.
