Sometimes the “no” is simply making room for the right “yes.” I can hear my father saying, Go Head Girl!!! 🥲

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been applying for fellowships across the country that focus on nonprofit leadership, business, and personal development. My goal has never been just to become a better leader for myself, but to grow into the kind of leader who can coach others to greatness through life’s challenges, lived experiences, and my own journey.

I won’t lie, I received several “no’s” from fellowship programs in places like New York. But I refused to let rejection define my purpose.

Instead, God opened the door to a fellowship in Colorado, and I am honored to have been accepted. This opportunity will help me strengthen my leadership, not only for the communities I serve but for the impact I hope to make around the world.

I even had a choice between traveling to China for training . I chose Colorado. China will come one day. I’m learning that every journey doesn’t have to happen all at once. Baby steps are still steps, and I’m trusting God’s timing every step of the way.

To everyone chasing a dream: don’t let rejection make you quit. Sometimes the opportunity that’s meant for you doesn’t look like the one you expected, but it’s exactly the one you need.

Here’s to growth, purpose, and becoming the leader God has called me to be. Here I Come Denver Colorado 🩷💙

Imagine being a single mother who was on Section 8, working as a hairstylist, determined to build a better life for herself and her children. While battling depression.

I overcame abuse, depression, earned my college degree, and TN state certifications. Became a speaker, published author, founded a nonprofit. Teaching domestic violence prevention and secure local and government grant funding, became a landlord, while raising my children through it all.

Your current situation is not your final destination. Keep going. Your story is still being written. 💜
