For the folks out…let me give you a quick piece of game. If you have children who are involved with organizations looking to raise money. Here is an idea I did about 15 years ago when I was working at a radio station in Houston.

The station was doing an event over 2 weeks (2 weekends). It was during the Summer the event was outside…and boy it was hot. The station had several vendors onsite. One of the vendors was a cell phone company who was selling a regular size 16oz bottle of water for $3-$4 dollars and they were killing it.

That first weekend (at night) after the event, I was in Kroger picking up a few items. And what did I see?

A sale on the large 28oz bottle of POWERADE for $1.00.

What do y oh think I did?

I went to my manager at the time THAT MONDAY and said I wanted to buy a vendor spot. I paid for a spot, maybe $100. That Tuesday or Wednesday, I went back to Kroger and bought 200 bottles of POWERADE (all the flavors). Got a large stand up cooler filled it with ice, rented an ICE CREAM CART (filled up) with Ice cream, paid one of my wife’s friends to help me sell.

I sold that POWERADE for $5 for a 28oz bottle. Remember the competitor was selling a 16oz bottle of water for $3-4. So my bottles were WAY MORE OF A DEAL. Needless to say I sold out of everything and walked away with some good $ in one day.

Young people, young adults use your brain. Stop wishing things would happen and go MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

As I am walking through WALMART TODAY 6/13 @ 125p guess what I see…

With all the outdoor SUMMER events going on…don’t be afraid to make money. Do you have to go out on a limb, YES. Do you have to pray on it, YES. Will you need to take action…YES.

People opportunities are all around us…MAKE IT HAPPEN (don’t make excuses).
