CHAMPIONS SPOTLIGHT

Today we honor our very first non-human Champion, Knuckles the cat. We were saddened to hear the news that Knuckles, the beloved cat of our Champion Partner Natchez Brewing Company, has passed away.

For five years, Knuckles brought joy and comfort to both staff and patrons. He arrived in 2020 and quickly made the brewery his home. Whether greeting guests, lounging with the crew, or finding the perfect lap, Knuckles was a true part of the experience.

We send our heartfelt sympathies to the Natchez Brewing Company family. Knuckles was more than a pet. He was part of the team and part of the community. He will be missed.

If you find yourself downtown, stop by Natchez Brewing Company and have a beer in his honor.

Champion Shoutout!

The Town of Vidalia, Louisiana continues to set the bar high when it comes to providing excellent services to its residents. Today, we want to congratulate Trenton M. Jordan and John A. Walters, graduates of the Louisiana Rural Water Association Apprenticeship Program!

These two are great examples of the hard work and dedication we see every day from Vidalia’s city employees. Thank you to all of the team members who keep things running smoothly and serve our community with pride and excellence.

Miss-Lou Champions Spotlight

Congratulations to Zabrina Hannibal on a major accomplishment. She just paid off her truck and is officially the first female at Jordan Carriers to reach this milestone.

“Don’t wait for opportunity. Create it.”
Zabrina set a goal, followed through with determination, and made it happen. Hard work truly pays off, and she is proof of that. This is a true champion accomplishment. Well done!

We’re proud to shine a spotlight on Charlotte Book, this year’s Natchez Miss Hospitality!

Charlotte is currently in Hattiesburg competing in the Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition, where 47 outstanding young women from across the state are vying for the chance to serve as Mississippi’s official goodwill ambassador for the next year.

Charlotte is already making Natchez proud, and we know she’ll continue to represent our community with grace, kindness, and strong leadership.

Let’s all wish Charlotte the best as she competes this week!

CHAMPION SPOTLIGHT

Vidalia native and former all-state standout Jarrett Hoffpauir has been named the 2025 Pine Belt Sports Baseball Coach of the Year after leading Presbyterian Christian School in Hattiesburg to its first-ever state championship!

Before coaching, Hoffpauir was a star at Southern Miss, where he hit an incredible .405 his junior year with 109 hits and 92 RBIs, earning All-American honors. He went on to play in the MLB with the Cardinals and Blue Jays.

“It’s not about me,” Hoffpauir told The Pine Belt News. “It’s huge for the school. It’s about those kids and the school, and the work they’ve put in and things like that. This was such a good group to do it with. We had a lot of guys before then to kind of set a foundation. The guys have continued to follow that. This team is going to get all the credit for it, but there’s some teams in the past as well that have kind of helped us get to this point.”
