Mr. Mike was born May 21, 1946, in Springhill, LA, the son of James and Lois Tucker.
He was known to be one of the most amazing men in history. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was mostly known as “PAWPAW,” but all of his coworkers and friends knew him as “Mother Tucker!” He worked very hard and took great pride in his work at the International Paper Mill and the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility, from which he retired. He will be remembered as the man who was always there for everyone, the man who was full of personality who always entertained a room with his jokes and magic tricks, most of all, the man who filled the room with so much love. He never crossed a person’s path without helping or changing their lives in some kind of amazing way. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Mike/Pawpaw/Mother Tucker quickly understood what made him so special, and that’s something words can’t express.
Most of all above, he shared a love story with his beloved late wife, Connie, that was built on faith, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She was the love of his life, and even after her passing, his love for her never faded. He spoke of her often, missed her deeply, and carried her memory in his heart every day. — While those who loved him grieve his loss, they find comfort in knowing that Mike is once again reunited with his beloved Connie. After months apart, they are together again, hand in hand, just in time for their 60th anniversary. They shared their whole lives together, and now they are sharing the eternal joy of Heaven together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie; his son, Eric; his three siblings, Kenny, Pat, and Dorthy; his daughter-in-law, Becky Tucker; and his oldest friend, Dennis Randall.
Survivors include, his four children, Jennifer Tucker, Jeffrey Tucker and wife, Amy, Rebecca Stewart and husband, John, and Anthony Tucker; five grandchildren, Eric “EJ” Grantham, Ashley Scott and her husband, Matt, Morgan Wagley and her fiancé, Happy Hedgepeth, Skylar Forbess and her husband, Aaron, and Vega Cupit; and his seven, great-grandchildren, Patrick, Caitie, JonDavid, Mason, Adalyn, Olivia and Gunnar; along with the four bonus grandkids he gathered along the way, Harley, Logan, Blake and Ariel and his sister Arlene.
Family would like to extend a special thank you to Bristol Hospice and Amber Delaune for the care and love they gave him in his final months.
Pallbearers will be Eric “EJ” Grantham, Aaron Forbess, Jessie Forbess, John Stewart, Happy Hedgepeth, and Matt Scott.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Anthony Tucker, Patrick and Mason Grantham, JonDavid and Gunnar Forbess, and Logan Hedgepeth.
