In a final effort to help clear up any confusion about what occurred during Commissioners Court, ๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐๐ฃ๐จ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ง๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ค has been posted, highlighting the actual motions made and votes taken by the court.
For clarification, Commissioner David Tullos requested that restrictions be placed against solar farms, wind farms, BESS (battery energy storage systems), and data centers, by requesting that they be placed on the list of ineligible properties for tax abatements in Grimes County:
Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Cloud, colocation, and hyperscale data centers.
The results of those votes were as follows:
Solar Farms โ Vote Passed unanimously, 5โ0.
Wind Farms โ Vote Passed unanimously, 5โ0.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) โ Vote was 3 for and 2 against the request.
Although a majority supported the motion, it failed due to the requirement of a 75% favorable vote.
Cloud, Colocation, and Hyperscale Data Centers โ Vote was 3 for and 2 against the request.
This motion also failed due to the requirement of a 75% favorable vote.
