Who decided you should never buy your own Tarot deck? Or blow out a spell candle? Or let someone touch your cards? And perhaps most importantly… **who put them in charge?** 😂

This week on **The Green Egg Blog**, we're taking an affectionate look at witchcraft's mysterious collection of rules, superstitions, old wives' tales, and the difference between *"This is how I do it"* and *"This is how it MUST be done."*

Posted on August 8, 2026 by Who Put the Rules in Witchcraft? By Katrina Rasbold Somewhere, at some point, someone decided you should never buy your own Tarot cards. I would very much like to meet this person. Mostly because I have questions. Who does buy them, then? Is there a designated Tarot distr...

✨ New on The Green Egg Blog!

Let's be honest...

Most of us think we look like Stevie Nicks.

In reality? We're usually sporting a faded festival T-shirt, hiking boots, cat hair on our black shirt, and just enough silver jewelry to set off the airport metal detector.

And truly...that's part of the charm.

This week's Green Egg Blog takes a lighthearted look at Pagan fashion in the real world—the difference between our mystical aspirations and what actually hangs in our closets. It's a celebration of practical magic, comfortable clothes, and the wonderfully authentic way our community shows up in everyday life.

So...tell me...

🖤 What's the most "Pagan" item of clothing you own that you almost never wear? Is it the dramatic cloak? The velvet dress? The ritual robes? Or is your everyday uniform a festival hoodie and well-loved boots?

I'd love to hear your answers!

Why do Pagans save candle stubs?

Or feathers. Or little jars. Or ribbons that might be useful someday.

If you've ever looked around your home and realized you've somehow accumulated a collection of magical odds and ends that you absolutely cannot part with, this week's Green Egg Blog is for you.

It's a humorous, heartfelt look at the things we keep, what they say about us, and why seeing possibility where others see clutter might be one of the most Pagan things we do.

I hope you'll pull up a chair and join me.

Posted on July 28, 2026 by Why Do We Save Candle Stubs? By Katrina Rasbold I was looking for one particular candle the other day. Not a fancy one. Not the expensive beeswax pillar I’d been saving for some future occasion worthy of its existence. I was looking for a little red candle that had alrea...

⚖️ The Art of the High-Summer Pause ⚖️

We are sitting squarely in the middle of July. The intense heat of the summer crucible is blazing all around us, yet the harvest of Lammas is still just on the horizon. In this dense, shimmering stretch of the year, it is incredibly easy to fall into the trap of constant, frantic production.

But nature does not hustle. The fields are letting the grain bake slowly on the root, showing us that true sovereignty includes the radical right to slow down.

In our latest Green Egg Blog entry, we explore the Middle Way—the delicate art of balancing fierce external action with deep, defiant internal restoration so you can recharge your spirit without burning out.

Give yourself permission to step off the linear grind and protect your inner sanctuary. Read the full post here:

☀️ Turn up the heat: The Crucible of July is here. ☀️We often treat the blistering mid-summer heat as an inconvenience to endure—but earth-spiritual traditions recognize this specific stretch of July as the ultimate furnace for internal alchemy. Before we can break the bread of the upcoming harvest, we have to let our old structures, stubborn habits, and defensive armoring melt down into raw, liquid potential. In our latest Green Egg Blog entry, we dive into the white-hot magic of high summer and explore how to step directly into the furnace for deep, alchemical soul-work.Read the full post and lean into the intensity here:👉 https://greeneggmagazine.com/blog/

🦅 True Independence is a Sovereign Landscape. 🦅Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of rebels drew a hard line against tyranny and claimed absolute authority over their own lives.

But true independence isn't a historical event we inherit—it’s a radical, ongoing act of spiritual warfare that we must choose to wage every single day. When our personal healthcare, religious plurality, and the Living Earth itself are under constant assault, our spirituality cannot remain passive.

We cannot hide in the shadows of quiet circles while our boundaries are being contested. In today's special July 4th Green Egg Blog entry, we break down what it truly means to reclaim your power and establish an unshakeable boundary of non-encroachment around your body, your faith, and your mind. This isn't about blind allegiance to a state. It is an allegiance to the land, to our community's beautiful diversity, and to the fierce protection of our personal autonomy.

Whose Sabbat Is It Anyway? 🗓️🍂

Modern planners love a strict grid, but Gaia doesn’t operate on a standard calendar. Our agrarian ancestors didn't celebrate a Sabbat just because a page turned to a specific date; they watched for the actual blossoming of the hawthorn and the ripening of the local grain.

When your calendar dictates midsummer heat but your local landscape is experiencing a cold, gray fog, where does your magic live? In a box on a grid, or in the earth right beneath your feet?

In today's Green Egg Blog entry, we explore the beautiful conundrum of calendar dates versus ecological reality—and why giving yourself permission to adapt your rituals to your local climate will completely transform your practice.

Plus, get a sneak peek at the artwork for our upcoming Summer Solstice Quarterly Issue dropping next week on June 21, 2026! ☀️
